Kurt Marti, geboren am 31.1.1921 in Bern, ist ein schweizer reformierter Theologe, Pfarrer und Schriftsteller. Er erregte bereits 1959 mit seiner ersten Sammlung, den "republikanischen gedichten", Aufmerksamkeit. Hier und in den folgenden Bänden (u. a. "gedichte am rand", 1963; veränderte Neuausgabe 1984 unter dem Titel "geduld und revolte"; "leichenreden", 1970) verbinden sich Sprachexperimente im Sinne der konkreten Poesie mit Gesellschaftskritik aus christlicher Sicht. Wichtige Anregungen für die moderne schweizerische Mundartlyrik und Kurzprosa gingen von dem Gedichtband "rosa loui" (1967) und den "Dorfgeschichten" (1960) aus. Christlich-soziales Engagement bezeugen auch seine Tagebücher ("Zum Beispiel: Bern 1972", 1973; "Ruhe und Ordnung. Aufzeichnungen, Abschweifungen 1980–1983", 1984). In den bedeutenden Nachdichtungen "Die Psalmen Davids. Annäherungen" (4 Bände, 1991–93) brachte er die alttestamentlichen Gesänge heutigen Lesern nahe.
